Standard rates as of October 2026. Rates change and reduced rates apply to some goods — check your tax authority for official figures.
How it works
Adding VAT: gross = net × (1 + rate). Removing VAT: net = gross ÷ (1 + rate) — not gross minus the rate, which is a common mistake.
Country presets use standard rates as of October 2026. Many countries also have reduced rates for food, books or transport, and rates change — check with the local tax authority for official figures.
FAQ
How do I remove VAT from a price?
Divide the gross price by 1 plus the rate. For 20% VAT, 120 ÷ 1.20 = 100 net, so the VAT is 20.
Are reduced rates included?
The presets show standard rates only. Choose Custom and type any reduced rate you need.
