Daily reference rates from the European Central Bank, fetched live from the free Frankfurter API.

Live data This tool fetches exchange rates from a third-party API. Nothing you type is sent.

How it works

Rates come from the European Central Bank's daily reference rates, published around 16:00 CET on working days, via the open-source Frankfurter API. This is the only tool here that contacts another server: your browser requests the rates directly, and the amounts you type are never sent.

Reference rates are mid-market rates. Banks and card providers usually add a margin or fee, so the rate you actually get will be a little worse.

FAQ

How often are rates updated?

Once per working day, around 16:00 CET. On weekends and holidays you'll see the latest published rate and its date.

Why is my bank's rate different?

These are mid-market reference rates. Banks, card networks and exchange services add their own margin or fees on top.
